Workshops to take place to help kids feel at peace

Peaceful Kids is running a two-day Peaceful Parents facilitator training course in Clifton Hill at the end of February.

The Peaceful Kids program teaches children skills and coping strategies to reduce symptoms of stress and anxiety and to increase their emotional resilience. Mindfulness has been scientifically proven to benefit both children and adults to reduce stress. Children are taught to create daily routines of mindfulness and meditation.

The Peaceful Kids program is suitable for children of school age from Prep to Year 12. It can be run in schools or any organisations working with school-age children. Program facilitators can be teachers, counsellors, school leaders, mental health nurses, chaplains or other staff trained in the program. The program runs over eight weeks and works with small groups of children. Training courses often use printing services to create resources for participants.

Furthermore, the Peaceful Parents teaches parents a number of strategies to reduce stress, enabling them to enjoy their parenting experience and help to build their children’s resilience. Supportive workshops, run by trained facilitators, build on parents’ strengths and are practical and engaging. Parents demonstrate the skills they are taught thus helping children to learn the same coping skills.

The Peaceful Parents Facilitator Training will be held on Thursday 28th February and Friday 1st March from 8:30am to 4:30pm at Elk Wellbeing Centre, 282A Queens Parade Clifton Hill. The course costs $750 and bookings should be made online.
