The Grau Projekt is currently hosting the Word of Mouth exhibition in Clifton Hill until the end of next month.
Word of Mouth is an exhibition of work by 25 visual artists from Australia, Scotland and Singapore exploring the ideas of fake news, fiction, truth, propaganda, illusion and surveillance.
The exhibition is curated and choreographed by Dr Peter Hill, and was first presented in May during the Venice Biennale. It will be presented in four segments and visitors can opt to participate in all or just some of them.
The show itself is the first segment and the second consists of art walks by Peter Hill. The third, at a venue announced on the day through Instagram, includes drinking at ‘Plato’s Cave’, with the fourth segment consisting of a series of lectures at various art spaces and art schools.
All the artists whose work is included exhibit both nationally and internationally and many are winners of prestigious art prizes. They work at the contemporary cutting edge and have work in private art collections and important museums. Artists John Cattapan, Brigitte Ozolins, Marita Lillie, Jacquelene Drinkall, Clare McCracken, Chris Bond, Cameron Bishop, Matt Bax, Michael Candy and Adeline Kueh are just some of the names who have work included in the exhibition.
Word of Mouth will be on view at Grau Projekt at 2-12 Alexandra Parade in Clifton until 26 October.
