Top tennis action served up this month
The tennis action is set to be fast and furious for the staging of the 105th Australian Open at Melbourne Park.
Victoria’s Clifton Hill residents are just a walk away from the event venue, where tens of thousands of tennis fans converge annually to see some of the world’s top players hit it out for a berth in the grand final of the year’s first Grand Slam tournament.
According to organisers, the 2017 competition will present two weeks of nonstop world class tennis that will include highly ranked players including last year’s Grand Slam winners Novak Djokovic and Angelique Kerber, who will be defending their positions against a strong field of contenders.
Crowd pleasers such as Roger Federer and Australia’s Bernard Tomic and Nick Kyrgios will display their skills on centre court as they attempt to take home a share of the more than $3.4m prizemoney pot.
The creation of brochures and poster printing have been undertaken to advertise the many big names of tennis heading to Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne to participate in the tournament, which annually sees legions of fans from overseas and around Australia flying into the southern capital just to witness the event firsthand.
According to organisers, the Australian Open is a fun day out for everyone, whether sitting in the stands watching the tennis in action or enjoying the onsite cuisine which this year includes seven new restaurants.
The Australian Open is held from January 16 to 29.
