Stylish Posters with graphic design are likely to catch the attention of local music lovers to inform them of an upcoming gig.

Maryos Syawish and Corey Kikos are the duo that form Sleep D, and have been friends since childhood. Helping to shape the landscape of electronic music, the pair are pillars of the Melbourne underground scene. Immersed in rave culture, the music they produce is described as being hypnotic, echoey and blissful.

The two have appeared at worldwide venues such as the Panorama Bar and Boiler Room, and are masters of the ambient dancefloor experience. Their latest revelatory album release, Electronic Arts, shifts through differing styles, sounds and tempos, and is largely drawn from their much-loved live performance material. Drawing on their heritage, the album also includes Iraqi and Syrian ethnographic samples and field recordings.

They are the founders of Butter Records, where experimentation and a serene vibe can find a place, particularly techno, house and strains of disco. According to fans and critics, the sound is chilled, fluid and mesmeric, and is particularly appealing to underground music fans and those that like to express themselves on the dancefloor.

Sleep D will be appearing at Abbotsford Convent, which can be found on 1 St Heliers Street in Abbotsford. The gig takes place on Saturday, 23 November, and tickets cost from $37.13.
