Sweet treats on shown in Melbourne
Keen cake makers will enjoy a visit to the Melbourne Convention Centre next month, with sweet thrills to be had at the Cake, Bake, & Sweets Show.
The event is one of only two shows taking place across Australia and there will be plenty of stands to choose from, offering everything from baking equipment to tasty treats to take home.
Visitors from Abbotsford should look out for catalogue printing explaining more about the products available and keep an eye out for special offers from traders.
Throughout the weekend, there will be presentations from cooking experts and a few celebrity guests, many of whom will also be signing copies of their books. Among them will be the Cake Boss, Buddy Valestro, and baker Dean Brettschneider.
During the event, chocolatier Kirsten Tibballs will be attempting to create a chocolate bouquet big enough to make it into the Guinness World of Records and, on the show’s first day, a complete life-size wedding chapel made of cake will be constructed for a special ceremony, taking place later that afternoon.
Visitors who want to get involved can book half-day workshops to brush up their decorating skills, or participate in a baking class where they will also get to take home their creation.
The show runs from Friday, October 3rd to Sunday, October 5th. Tickets are available from the show’s website.
