In A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the character Puck claims to be:
“…that merry wanderer of the night.”
The Back Yard Theatre Ensemble (BYTE) group have thus named their offering The Merry Wanderers of the Night, with a nod to one of Shakespeare’s most enduring and appealing of comedies.
According to event organisers, the audience will be in enraptured as they watch the renowned independent BYTE present a comic amalgamation of well-loved Shakespearean characters, featuring popular themes of identity, gender and love. The young cast use music and songs to help bring the story to life and enthuse the audience.
The co-directors are Joachim Matschoss and Ben Jamieson, with Nikki Green co-ordinating movement and Estrella Jurado managing costumes. The rest of the company is collectively responsible for managing the sound and space.
