Roots rock band to play in Abbotsford

The Lulie Tavern in Abbotsford is the popular live venue that will host folky blues band Hey Gringo in March.

Hey Gringo, led by Melbourne’s Daryl Roberts, has just released its eighth album, Keep on Moving. The band has been around for almost 25 years, and Roberts draws on a fluid mix of stellar musicians to partner him in Hey Gringo. With a catalogue of instruments to include harmonica, guitar, saxophone, flute and drums, the band members draw on the influence of growing up in the 1970s, to produce a sound that is original, nostalgic, bluesy and funky.

Roberts is also a multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriter who has performed all over the world and plays keyboards with Australian band Spectrum as well.

Keep on Moving reached number one on the Australian Blues and Roots Airplay Charts and is described as energetic, passionate and soulful. One of the many reviews states:

“Daryl Roberts and the members and special guests who make up Hey Gringo are back with a new album of great tunes and a band who seem to be having a lot of fun playing them. Keep on Moving, indeed!”
