Offering a diverse range of films including We need to talk about Kevin starring Tilda Swinton, Crazy, Stupid Love starring Steve Carell and Auto-luminescent: Roland S Howard, the documentary about the life of Howard who ‘appeared like a phantom in early Melbourne punk scene’. This film features interviews with Nick Cave, Lydia Lunch and Wim Wenders and is a portrait of an artist that never sold out.

“Summer is now finally upon us and with that we’re excited to launch Melbourne’s newest open air cinema, which is also Melbourne’s first large scale independent cinema of its kind.
The Abbotsford Convent is a unique, beautiful venue to be hosting the cinema and The Shadow Electric will bring a new energy to the summer entertainment options on offer around Melbourne.”
The program is not available online but there will be flyer printing completed soon so that the line-up can be found on Flyers in venues around Collingwood and Fitzroy. Gift vouchers are also available no doubt produced by a Print company in the area.
The Shadow Electric has a capacity for 250 cinema-goers which also has a licensed bar, which serves food. The open air cinema also has a shorts film program and live entertainment.
The Shadow Electric is opening Thursday 12th January and runs until Sunday 15th January.
