Nocturnal festival to come to Abbotsford

Abbotsford locals, art lovers and wildlife enthusiasts can soon come together for a night of live music, immersive projections, pop-up bars and local food vendors for BAT MASSIVE 2025.

The one-night only festival centres on the flight of the grey-headed flying foxes, with attendees participating in a special guided tour of the local environment and conservation efforts, enriched by the art and music on display.

The tour will be complimented by light projections from Melbourne-based artist Yandell Walton, and live performances from a number of local musicians. Attendees will also have the chance to take part in the mixed reality experience JULAYMBA from Phoria, which is to be a journey through the Daintree guided by Eastern Kuku Yalanji Elder Richard Burchill.

Presented by Abbotsford Convent, Triple R community radio and Wildlife Victoria, proceeds from the event will go towards the rescue and protection of native bats, carried out by Wildlife Victoria. According to Abbotsford Convent, the event is intended to explore:
“Human and non-human experiences in exile; a nomadic reverie of the places we always return to.”

Local festivals like this often turn to poster printing services to produce the necessary signage for the event, including promotional posters and directional or instructional materials.

BAT MASSIVE will take place at the Magdalen Laundry Industrial School in Abbotsford on Saturday, August 16, from 5pm onwards.
