Melbourne Meditation Centre to host mindfulness course

Clifton Hill is running a six-week course for beginners on mindfulness and meditation this July.

This course is specifically designed for those who are new to meditation or for those wishing to develop and refine their skills. Based on psychology and science rather than on eastern religion and mysticism, it aims to provide participants with a variety of options from basic meditation and mindfulness to dealing with anxiety, an over-active mind and sleep issues.

This style of meditation hopes to break the mindset that meditating requires chanting and an empty mind. The course will teach participants to work with their emotions and thoughts to experience a less anxious, calmer outcome. The contemporary programme includes techniques on implementing spot meditations and mindfulness practices during daily activities such as walking, working out or driving.

The creators of the course pride themselves on the belief that every person’s experience will be different, and with this in mind, their goal is to help participants find specific strategies that will work for them.

Organisations that work in the health and wellness sector may utilise Business Cards to advertise their services to the local community.

The six-week course will be run on Mondays at the Melbourne Meditation Centre in Clifton Hill, beginning on the 20 July at 6:30pm. Details of the cost and registration can be found on the centre’s website.
