Festive fun coming up for Clifton Hill
Clifton Hill will be filled with festive cheers in early December, as the City of Yarra council holds its annual ‘Carols by Candlelight’ concert.
This year, the concert will be held in Darling Gardens and will feature the Australian Children’s Choir, which includes around 50 singers aged between 11 and 18 years old from around Australia.
Children from local school choirs and community singing groups will also be performing during the evening, and the highlight for young concert-goers is likely to be an appearance by Father Christmas, who will be taking time out from his busy pre-Christmas schedule to join in the fun.
Anyone attending can purchase a songbook to help them sing along with any unfamiliar carols, and everyone who buys a book also stands the chance of winning a prize.
The event will no doubt provide some good family photo opportunities, and a printing company could create high-quality copies of the pictures to be sent to friends and relatives, or displayed at home.
Residents are encouraged to walk or ride to the event, and bike parking will be available, but an accessible drop-off point will also be in place at the corner of North Terrace and Hoddie Street. Food and drink will be available throughout the event
The concert takes place on Thursday, December 3 and starts at 6:00 pm. For more information, contact Yarra City Council.
