Clifton Hill, Victoria, will be among participating venues to host over 300 events as part of this year’s Leaps and Bounds Music Festival.
The event will see about 900 performances take place across the city including North Fitzroy, North Carlton, Abbotsford, Richmond, Collingwood, Clifton Hill and Fitzroy.
The City of Yarra commissioned the festival to be presented by PBS 106.7 FM.
A spokesman for the organisers said the event, which will be promoted on air and via Flyers and poster printing, will provide something for all ages.
He said there will be many highlights including a Living Legends production that will pay tribute to Blackeyed Susan’s Phil Kalkulas and Australian rock singer-songwriter and guitarist Deborah Conway, who will be in the audience to watch the next generation of artists perform their music.
Fitzroy’s renowned live music strip will welcome back soul music for the Brunswick St Soul Fiesta while PBS 106.7FM will conduct a live broadcast featuring Acid Country from the suburb’s Rainbow Hotel.
The eclectic music programme will also include Aboriginal performer LJ Hill, accompanied on guitar by Brendan Gallagher who produced Karma Country for Jimmy Little.
The spokesman said Emily Ulman, a festival favourite, and guitarist for You Am I Davey Lane will also put on shows across the city.
He said the Leaps and Bounds Music Festival will be held from July 1 to 17 and those attending can expect everything from album launches to studio workshops for under-21s.Get a Free Quote for Flyers
