Matt Young, the director of Melbourne Meditation Centre, will be running a course to help people learn how to become teachers of mindfulness and meditation.
With an experienced teacher and among a group of supportive and like-minded students, course participants will gain the experience and confidence to teach and guide meditation and mindfulness. The course will cover not only how and what to teach, how to make meditation enjoyable and accessible, but also give ideas on where to start as a meditation teacher, the best way to set up classes and how to market them.
The course is experiential and practical and students will learn through live practice sessions, case studies and group discussions. This is an accredited course, so on completion students will have an industry standard qualification to teach meditation and mindfulness. Courses such as this often use printing services to create educational materials.
The course can be completed over 12 sessions of 90 minutes, which are held on Monday evenings from 8:15pm, beginning on Monday 23rd September. There will be a one-week break in the middle of the course.
Sessions will be held at the Melbourne Meditation Centre, which is located at 172 Noone Street in Clifton Hill. The cost of the course is $1,350 or $1,000 for concession card-holders. A non-refundable deposit of $250 is required to secure a place.
