Celebrations to be held at Melbourne Pride Festival
Residents in Abbotsford and across Yarra City will have an opportunity to attend a large-scale street festival in December.
A Yarra City Council spokesperson said the one-day intersectional and multi-generational celebration was an initiative of the Victorian government, adding:
The spokesperson added funding had been provided to ensure representation from across the state can be secured both prior to and at the festival for the celebration, which will be completely family friendly and will be presented in three stages.
Interactive demonstrations, community stalls, keynote speakers, circus, music and live performances will all be showcased at the event. Organisers have said the festival is being delivered to attract impact state-wide with p content and live-streaming to give people an opportunity to engage with the event from the c re-recorded omfort of their homes.
Among key objectives is the involvement of street traders, while local businesses will also be trading during the event. Poster printing campaigns have often helped to advertise major events such as this festival.
Midsumma is planning a big day for all visitors to the event in Yarra City, which will be held on Sunday, 5 December.

“Named Melbourne Pride 2021 – A Road to Pride, this is an initiative designed to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the decriminalisation of homosexuality within Victoria. Fairer Victoria has contracted Midsumma as the event delivery partner.”
