Baroque music refers to a type of Western classical music, typically created between about 1600 and 1750. Key composers of the era include Handel, Vivaldi and Bach.
In May, Genesis Baroque is joined by Sara Macliver. Macliver is enjoying a residency at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) and is known as an expert on the Baroque repertoire, regularly performing with the Australian Symphony Orchestra and various festivals, and with several international companies.
Genesis Baroque was founded eight years ago and encompasses some of Australia’s best-known historically-informed performers. A recent review from CutCommon states:

Together with Macliver, Genesis Baroque will be leading the talented ANAM musicians in period instrument playing, highlighting differences in instruments and playing techniques, between then and now. The repertoire on the evening will conclude with a showcase of 18th Century Viennese classics, to include works by Porpora, Martines, Haydn and von Dittersdorf.
