Abbotsford Convent Foundation announces new chair for 2023

The Abbotsford Convent Foundation, representing the largest multi-arts precinct in Australia, has announced that it is appointing a new chair from February 2023.

Gillian Franklin, who is known as one of the most innovative marketers in the country, has a dedication to supporting business women as well as a myriad of accomplishments under her belt, including over 30 years of experience in similar roles. She is also a founder of Chief Executive Women, an organisation representing prominent and influential women in Australia

The Abbotsford Convent is a place where all are welcome to share art, workshops, exhibitions and more. The Convent's foundation also hosts more than 2,000 different projects each year, from festivals to corporate events. Events such as these can benefit from poster printing to encourage the local community to join in, and no doubt Gillian will be well-equipped to use her marketing experience to perhaps build on the Convent’s Promotional Products.

According to Collete Brennan, CEO of the Abbotsford Convent Foundation, the board undertook an extensive search for the perfect candidate for chair and were happy to appoint Gillian. The focus of the Convent team will be to work together to serve the community and rebuild on any damage the pandemic may have caused the Convent.

The previous chair who departed in October, Victoria Marles AM, served the community for over 11 years and helped the Convent in being added to the National Heritage List.
