Anh Do is no stranger to Australian television, having contributed to shows such as Dancing with the Stars, Anh Does Vietnam and Anh’s Brush with Fame.
In 1980, Do fled Vietnam with his family in an overcrowded fishing boat. The journey, in which his family encountered pirates, lasted five days. Do was two at the time. Overcoming hardships was a key lesson for the young Do, giving him a zest for life and a determination to succeed.
The Happiest Refugee Live combines humour with film, photographs and real-life stories. Indeed, the comedian’s award-winning book has been described by Russell Crowe as:
