Gus Gordon’s award-winning book Herman and Rosie is being retold in a jazz musical format with the help of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra (ASO). The ASO has been responsible for delivering the story in its musical form since 2017.
The book Herman and Rosie was published in 2012. Set in New York, it garnered many positive reviews, including:

With jazz inspiration, this fun, family-friendly event evokes the spirit of the book that celebrates friendship, adventure and the importance of following dreams. The show is interactive and is led by presenter Susan Ferguson, a popular singer who has been a presenter for children’s concerts with the ASO since 2013.

The Adelaide Symphony Orchestra will perform Herman and Rosie on 14 August, from 6 pm until 7 pm. The venue is the Salisbury Community Hub, 34 Church Street, Salisbury. Doors open at 5.30 pm, with tickets costing $5. There are no tickets required for babies under one year.
