Salisbury South learns to support older people

Those in the area of Salisbury South interested in supporting older people in the community in either a paid or volunteer capacity can attend a free event to get more information.

The Art of Ageing Well is sponsored by both the Northern Collaborative Project (NCP) and the Multicultural Communities Council of South Australia (MCCSA). THE NCP’s mission is to see improvements in the wellbeing and health of the community through focused planning and engagement.

The focus for the Ageing Well community expo is on tips that can help people stay well and active as well as providing useful information on activities and services that can support older people, their families and carers. There will also be representatives of local organisations that can offer volunteering and paid opportunities, with some even offering immediate interviews for interested parties.

There will also be cultural and dance performances, supported by the NCP’s Volunteer Connect Expo, plus the opportunity to have a caricature done.

Informative events in the community might include leaflets to take away which may be produced by local printing services.

The Art of Ageing Well Expo is taking place on Wednesday 10th June, from 10am until 1.30pm at the Salisbury Community Hub, 34 Church Street, Salisbury, SA 5108. It is free to attend but those intending to come along should reserve a place.
