Salisbury Parish Multicultural Carnival returns in February

For the fourth time, St. Augustine’s Parish School near Salisbury South will be holding the Salisbury Parish Multicultural Carnival in February.

The first carnival was held in 2014 and organised by Father Roderick O’Brien. It is held on the eve of Lent. The carnival is held once every two years and brings together community members to celebrate their cultural diversity.

The carnival provides attendees with food, craft stalls and plant vendors. Due to the location being a school, the event is child-friendly, meaning that there is entertainment for kids in the form of soccer games, bouncy castle, a fashion parade, performances, and give-aways.

Members of the community are invited to set up stalls during the event. Flyer printing is typically used to promote community events as they can be posted around schools, libraries, and community notice boards to encourage attendance.

The carnival will be held in the school, which is located on 25 Commercial Road. The easiest way to find the carnival is through the Carey Street entrance. It may be difficult to find if you have never been to the carnival before as it is located in a big complex consisting of an old church, a new church, a presbytery, and other buildings. The location is accessible by the Adelaide Metro train.

Festivities will run from 12pm to 4pm on 23rd February and the event is free to attend.
