Salisbury centre offers local learning opportunity

A local community hub in Salisbury is offering a craft course where participants can pick up some new skills.

Those from the Salisbury South area looking to master some brand-new abilities will not want to miss an upcoming opportunity at the Salisbury Community Hub. The latest addition to the community centre’s “Tinker Thursday” programme, a new class called “Get Crafty with a Vinyl Cutter” will show those attending how to use the Salisbury library’s onsite Cricut cutting machine while learning the basics of both making and design.

A two-part foundation course, those coming down to the hub will learn all about the different applications, devices, tools, materials and skills involved in designing their own vinyl sticker creations. Course organisers often use poster printing services to create public notices that encourage attendance.

In the first session, course candidates will learn all about the library’s Cricut machine and the methods used to Print out vinyl stickers. In the second class, they can then find out how to design unique vector graphics using apps like Design Space and Inkscape to create stickers.

The Tinker Thursday: Get Crafty with a Vinyl Cutter event will take place on March 31 and April 7 at Salisbury Community Hub Library, 34 Church Street in Salisbury. Classes run from 10.30 am until 12 pm and will be held in the Helen Barnes Room (106).
