An area near Salisbury South will be hosting community Christmas carols this week in a free celebration for all the family.
The evening will include popular performances by African Soul, the Military Wives Choir and the Royal Australian Navy Band, among others. Popular Christmas tunes might include Six White Boomers, The Silver Stars Are In The Sky and White Wine in the Sun.
For the youngsters, there will be performances by Boomstars as well as Christmas crafts in which to take part. Activities might include making Australian Christmas wildlife-themed ornaments, creating wooden spoon angels and fashioning Christmas crackers from recycled and donated material.
There will be an opportunity for attendees to bring their own snacks for a picnic outside. Alternatively, there will be food and drinks available from pop-up vendors such as the Yiros Hub, S’s Deli and the Humpty Dumplings, as well as the Big Softy ice-cream truck and the Crepe Bar. Food sellers like these often make use of local printing services in order to produce menu guides and price lists for their stalls.
The evening will culminate in a fireworks display lasting approximately 15 minutes.
Salisbury Community Christmas Carols is taking place this Saturday, 6 December, from 4.30 pm until 9.15 pm, at Carisbrooke Park, which can be found on Main North Road, Salisbury Park. This is a free event and is open to everyone.
