The City of Salisbury is currently inviting entries of photographs taken of people enjoying the region. A council spokesperson said the images could depict a family enjoying a day out in St Kilda, for example and, he added:
“We're seeking images - old and new - of places taken throughout the Salisbury region.”
He said people may have a hidden supply of old photos that could be entered. Categories include ‘Best Selfie’, ‘Best Landscape Shot’ and ‘Best Old Photo’, with entries vying for $100 gift cards.
Residents from across the City of Salisbury are being invited to submit entries by the closing date of November 8 at 5pm. Photographs can be submitted by loading them onto the City of Salisbury Facebook page or to Instagram tagged #YourHubYourHome, detailing where and when the photos were taken. Events such as this can also be advertised offline, through flying printing.
The winning entries will be selected by Mayor Gillian Aldridge who will judge submissions for each category on November 11. This will be followed on November 15 with the announcement of winners on the City’s Facebook page.
Photographs submitted for the competition may also be shown on the big screen on the opening weekend of the Salisbury Community Hub, due to take place on November 30 to December 1.
