An opportunity to play with nature this October

The annual nature play festival will be held this October at Holden Hill, a short 15 minutes drive from Salisbury South.

Sponsored by the Department of Human Services and in conjunction with the Tea Tree Gully Community Men's Shed and Council's Horticulture team, festival attendees will have access to an abundance of sand, hay bales, branches and stepping logs to play with. All registered children will get a boat-making kit that they can take home. Activities such as wild flower weaving and clay modelling will also be available on the day. For entertainment, there will be a live band. Poster printing is a good way to inform individuals of community events.

While children are playing and engaging in the various activities, their parents can take advantage of the free coffee and seating available on the day. As children are likely to get dirty while playing, adults are encouraged to dress their children in old clothing and to bring an additional set. Attendees can purchase a barbeque lunch from 11am onwards.

The target audience for the event is families with children aged 2 to 10 years. The nature play festival will be held on Thursday October 8th from 10am to 12pm at the Holden Hill Community Centre located on 82 Valiant Road. The reserve can be accessed via Bentley Avenue and Gentilly Street. The cost to attend the event is $8 per family and includes up to three children.
