The Coffee Club Mooloolaba in Guinness World Record bid

The Coffee Club in Mooloolaba, Queensland was one of the popular franchise outlets across Australia that recently took part in a Guinness World Record attempt. On 1st May 2012, many singles within the area attended The Coffee Club speed dating event in Mooloolaba, in order to try to meet that special someone and make history at the same time.

The Coffee Club and the dating website RSVP came together to try and break the current Guinness World Record for ‘World’s Largest Speed Dating Event Across Multiple Locations’, with around fifty coffee shops taking part.

Research recently carried out by RSVP showed that around 41% of adult Australians are currently single. RSVP findings also suggested meeting for a coffee as one of the preferred first date scenarios for Australians. Ms Dudgeon of RSVP recently said:

"Grabbing a coffee together is a low pressure date environment - helping to calm some of those first date nerves while providing a relaxed setting for people to get to know one another."

Organisers were aiming to get over 2,000 people involved to make breaking the record possible. When running events like this, it is often beneficial to use banner printing, flyer printing and poster printing to gain exposure and to generate interest. There was a great deal of interest in the events held in Coolum and Mooloolaba, but more women than men seemed keen to get involved.

Regardless of this, people came out to make friends, find romance and to break a Guinness World Record.
