Dance festival to step into Maroochydore

Two venues in Maroochydore are set to support a mini dance festival dedicated to Neo Tango, designed to raise funds for underprivileged children in South America.

Dancers and dance enthusiasts in Maroochydore can soon participate in this upcoming event, which is called the “Sunshine Coast Neo-Tango Festival”. Featuring three days of festivities, the event is suited to various abilities, and its proceeds will be gifted to the Para Los Niños charity in Argentina to support children in need.

Registered charities and not-for-profits running campaigns sometimes work closely with reliable brochure printing services to create informative literature that encourages donations to worthy causes.

The weekend festival will feature Neo Tango workshops led by skilled instructors Lynn Fraser and Ron Fenton. Music will be managed by multiple DJs including Suzi Teo, Cath and Fenton to provide an eclectic soundscape for the event.

Neo Tango is a respected 21st century evolution of Argentinian tango. It blends traditional tango techniques with modern and non-tango music like electronic, rock and pop, and features a more fluid and open dance style. A global, experimental movement, it emphasises freedom, musicality and creativity.

The Sunshine Coast Neo-Tango Festival will start on Friday, April 24 and run until Sunday, April 26. Events will be held at Hotel Maroochydore and the Maroochydore Freemasons Hall, and both venues are located on Main Road in the suburb.
