Sunset social to come to Maroochydore

Maroochydore is set to host a unique upcoming professional networking event, Sunset Stories and Social, which will feature award-winning entrepreneur Amelia Hooper as guest speaker.

As the founder of Hooper Ruff, a Sunshine Coast brand dedicated to sustainable pet products, she will be leading the latest empowerment journey. The event will be organised by the Sunshine Coast Business Women's Network (SCBWN) and is expected to bring in a fresh wave of professional networking to the region.

Sunset Stories and Social is set up to bring together businesswomen from across the Sunshine Coast in a relaxed, informal setting, where the format will focus on storytelling, shared experience and connection. The event will allow attendees to engage in meaningful discussion with the guest speaker, ask questions and build networks, while having the chance to unwind at the end of the workday.

Amelia Hooper is the 2025 “Micro/Small Business Woman of the Year” for SCBWN, and was recognised at the organisation’s 2025 Awards. Her recognition reflects both commercial success and values that many aim for, and will offers attendees firsthand insights into the practical challenges and rewards of running a business on the Sunshine Coast.

In particular, the event will allow attendees to have the chance to hear Hooper’s personal story, as well as connect with other local professionals and business owners in a relaxed atmosphere. For networking events like this, attendees could utilise business card printing.

With tickets costing $25, the event will allow networkers to meet on Thursday, January 29 at the Duporth Tavern in Maroochydore from 5:30pm – 6:30pm.
