Healthcare convention to head for Maroochydore

A major events centre in Maroochydore will host a convention dedicated to the awareness of Parkinson’s disease this spring.

The organisation The Parkinson’s Centre will present the “Parkinson’s Conference - Sunshine Coast”, which is to be a single-day convention taking place at a nearby event centre. It will feature community support, valuable practical tips, expert guest speakers and much more.

The mission statement for the event is “Navigating Parkinson's Together – From Knowledge to Action” and promises a day full of informative activities and opportunities to connect with caregivers, doctors, clinicians, people living with Parkinson’s and other members of the wider community.

Healthcare professionals attending events like conferences and summits often take business cards with them listing their titles, medical specialities and contact information to pass to peers.

Headline speakers at the upcoming event will include Shake It Up Australia Foundation’s founder, Clyde Campbell AM, The Parkinson’s Centre Director Barbara Cullinan and the UQ Centre for Clinical Research’s Dr Richard Gordon, among others.

The Parkinson's Conference - Sunshine Coast will be at the Maroochy RSL Events Centre on Tuesday, October 14. The event commences at 8 am and ends at 5 pm, and the venue is situated at 105 Memorial Avenue in Maroochydore.

Admission is priced from $53.46 per person and tickets entitle attendees to lunch and both morning and afternoon tea.
