Sunshine Coast Ocean Regatta returns this July

Maroochydore sailing enthusiasts can attend the Sunshine Coast Ocean Regatta (SCOR 2021) next month.

Yacht owners that typically sail all the way to Airlie and Hamilton Island in northern Queensland for the regattas in August can now participate in a shorter sailing event at the SCOR 2021. The event will consist of six races that will take place over two days. The regatta is open to participants that own appropriate yachts for racing, cruising or multihulls. Such an event can reach a broad target audience via banner printing.

The races will be conducted within Sunshine Coast and encompass views to popular locations within the region, such Mudjimba Island, Glasshouse Mountains and the Point Cartwright Lighthouse. Not only will there be short windward races, but also longer ones that will require affixed marks for navigation. These marks will be the Mooloolaba Waverider Buoy and the Gneerings cardinal mark.

As ocean racing did not take place last year, several yacht owners will be participating in the Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast (B2SC) race on July 16th, which will act as a warm-up or feeder race to the SCOR 2021 event.

SCOR 2021 will take place on July 17th and 18th. The Sunshine Coast Yacht Club, along with the assistance of the Queensland Cruising Yacht Club will be conducting the regatta.
