Singer and songwriter to play in Maroochydore
Residents of Maroochydore and its locality may wish to support singer/songwriter Paul Moleta at an upcoming gig in April.
Following a back injury in 2015, Moleta reportedly found solace in the songs of Irish band U2. If recovery allowed, he vowed to go to Ireland and record his own music at Windmill Lane Studios, which is where U2 originally recorded their material.
In 2017, he made it to Ireland, playing in pubs and clubs around Dublin and Galway, before reaching the recording studio in 2019. In this same year, he also played at the Electric Picnic festival, alongside renowned acts Hozier, Florence and the Machine and Jess Glynne.
Moleta and his band cover many popular songs, from both national and international artists, ranging anywhere from the 1980s to the 2000s. Critics say that Moleta is an insightful songwriter, with an interesting slant on alternative pop melodies, and the set at the Double Barrel Bar next month is likely to include some original material.
Venues often advertise upcoming gigs and music events like this one by employing local stationery printers to produce eye-catching posters for distribution in the area.
Paul Moleta is making an appearance on 12 April at 9 pm at the Double Barrel Bar, to be found on Ocean Street in Maroochydore. The event is free to attend.
