Energetic two-tone fans who embrace energetic dance vibes in the Maroochydore area may wish to go along to see the Sunny Coast Rude Boys, when they play at a popular venue in February.
The two-tone sound was a popular genre that grew from a mash-up of reggae and ska in the late 1970s to early 1980s, in the Coventry area of the UK.
The name derived from a desire to unite against racial tensions, and many two-tone bands were multicultural and multiracial.
The Sunny Coast Rude Boys (or the "Rudies") combine two-tone with ska and Jamaican reggae to create a sound that is playful and contemporary, and aims to have the audience dancing for the whole set.
No strangers to performing, the band have gigged alongside big names such as Bad Manners and The Original Wailers, among others, as well as embracing and headlining many a festival around Queensland, such as the Ska and Reggae Festival.
With thumping drums and unique arrangements, coupled with flavours of bands like Madness, UB40 and The Specials, the Rudies provide a high-energy night they hope fans will remember.
Often, merchandise is available at gigs in the form of Promotional Products, such as Posters and T-Shirts.
