Residents of Maroochydore looking to create a special present or their own unique piece of jewellery are invited to attend a workshop to create a pair of botanical eco-resin earrings.
The workshop is part of the “Fabric – Slow Fashion, Artful Living” programme that is running for the third and final time this year. The programme shines a spotlight on the talents of the region’s designers, artists and change-makers, while also featuring ethical practices, ingenious living and inspired crafts and creations.
The workshop is suitable for beginners, and participants do not need any previous experience in either working with resin or jewellery to participate. However, steady hands and an ability to focus on detail is an advantage.
The earrings will be made with botanical items such as small flowers and leaves, and every participant can create a floral world in their earring set. Jewellery resins are transparent, durable and perfect for such botanical features.
Due to the time it takes for the resin to cure before the final steps such as polishing can be completed, the workshop will consist of two sessions. The first session will be on Monday, December 7, and the second on Tuesday, December 15. Both workshops will be held at the Arts & Ecology Centre in the Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Garden from 3pm until 4.30pm, and cost $50.
Workshop organisers will often use flyer printing to promote upcoming workshops like this.
