‘Pop-up’ homemaking businesses are on their way to Maroochydore, Queensland.
In a first for the CBD, casual leasing of spaces in the Maroochydore Homemaker Centre will be released to host the short-term outlets.
The temporary sales spaces or shops differ from full time tenancies in that they only occupy the spaces for a period of up to six-months. The spaces could be located in a prominent mall area or vacant shop.
Maroochydore Homemaker Centre Marketing Manager Rebecca Gill said complementary homemaker services and products would be ideally suited to the casual leasing opportunities.
She said examples included cabinet makers, carpentry, electrical blinds and awnings, security screens, roofing and plumbing.
Gill added that demand was high for casual leasing venues, which were ideal for reaching new customers, raising a business’ profile and generating more sales, especially when combining the exposure with other marketing services such as Flyers and Brochures.
She added that compared to the usual long-term leases, the short-term alternative had proved popular because it was more cost-effective and also offered a viable sales option.
The Maroochydore Homemaker Centre, which is fully enclosed and offers Sunshine Coast shoppers a wide range of homeware, lifestyle, and furniture goods, has opened bookings for casual lease tenants.
They will be in good company in the centre, which hosts major stores including Nick Scali, Fantastic Furniture, Harvey Norman and 14 other retailers.
