Broaden horizons with free travel event in Maroochydore

Folks with wanderlust in the Maroochydore area will probably find plenty of interest in the free event run by APT and Travelmarvel at the Maroochy RSL in August.

Australia Pacific Tours has been in existence for almost a century, although originally it was known as McGeary’s Parlor Coaches. When the cable tram drivers went on strike in Melbourne in the 1920s, 24-year old mechanic Bill McGeary spotted an opportunity, converting his truck into a shuttle for moving commuters around. He was then able to afford more buses in order to cover extra routes, including school runs and leisure trips. His son Geoff took over in the 1950s and branched out to holidays in Queensland and Central Australia. Overseas tours in the 1970s saw the rebranding of the company to Australian Pacific Tours (APT). Today, the company arranges tours further afield, including popular river cruises in Europe.

At the free event, attendees can listen to experts from the company who are able to share insights about the experiences and adventures that are offered through APT. There is also information about the new luxury river cruisers. There are six information slots during the day, each about a different holiday under the APT umbrella. Attendees will also be able to take advantage of exclusive offers.

Literature about holidays is most likely provided by local Print shops.

The APT and Travelmarvel’s Free Travel Event is taking place on Monday 12th August, from 9.30am until 2.30pm. The venue is the Maroochy RSL, 105 Memorial Avenue, Maroochydore. This is a seated event.
