Ultimo to welcome guided walk
Ultimo locals are invited to attend a guided walk, “From Degradation to Revitalisation”, which is scheduled to take place in July.
Hosted by The Glebe Society, the walk will take attendees through the suburb’s colonial heritage, focusing on its role as the city’s source for electrified transport, stone and power. Walkers will also explore Ultimo’s status as a foundation for wool exports and stores.
Walkers will be guided by Patricia Hale, a heritage practitioner and historian with experience in leading historical, heritage walks through Sydney city.
The walk will also reveal to participants Ultimo’s transformation into a centre for culture, education and recreation. Old industrial buildings have been repurposed and now house offices, residences and retailers.
Historical and cultural event organisers can use graphic design in their advertising. This helps engage with locals and attract more attendees.
The Guided Walk: From Degradation to Revitalisation will take place on Sunday, July 13. The walk will go from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. It will start from the Broadway bus stop outside the University of Technology, Sydney. The route will cover approximately 2.5 kilometres with a few hilly areas. The walk will conclude with a Sunday afternoon jazz at the Lord Wolseley Hotel on Bulwara Road.
Tickets are priced at $20 for Glebe Society members, and $25 for non-members. To register, interested parties can visit the Eventbrite website.
