What's Happening in Ultimo, NSW…

Architectural walk to land in Ultimo

The architectural landscape of Ultimo will be explored in an upcoming walk scheduled to be held in the suburb in October.

Hosted by the Australian Architecture Association (AAA) and led by a volunteer, the walking tour will take attendees through some of the suburb’s most iconic landmarks.

Participants will learn about a building which Frank Gehry described as:
“The most beautiful, squashed paper bag.”

They will also visit a college built in the style of the Romanesque Revival and complete with carvings of Australian flora and fauna.

Attendees will discover the building that has received a 6 Green Star rating for sustainability, with its stand-out “Doppler Effect” façade.

The tour will finish on the Goods Line, which has been transformed from an abandoned freight rail line into a curated green space and park.

Stationery printers can help organisers of cultural events connect with their attendees. Thoughtfully designed, customised stationery forms a practical giveaway that can foster positive recognition of an organisation even after an event has passed.

The Ultimo – Art as Architecture Walk will be held on Saturday, 25 October. The architectural walk will commence at 10:00 AM and will finish at 12:00 PM. The starting point is the Powerhouse Museum Forecourt, which can be found at 500 Harris Street in Ultimo. Tickets are priced at $35 for students and seniors, and $40 for adults (including booking fees), and AAA members can receive a discount. Bookings will be taken through the Eventbrite website.
