Cheyenne to host course for emergency responders
The organization of a wide area search can be one of the duties needed to be undertaken in times of emergency, and a Cheyenne training session will equip those who participate with knowledge and skills they can use in this situation.
Each of the students in the Wide Area Search training module will receive instruction in practical methods for searching a large area effectively. There will be components built into the program that will allow the participants to put what they have learned into practice, and they will work through each scenario from the start of the disaster or event right to the end of the operational period.
The facilitators for this educational opportunity have been selected because they have a lot of practical experience as first responders and in planning searches. They have worked in situations ranging from the aftermath of a hurricane to the crash of a space shuttle, and they will use this knowledge and the lessons they learned to help the students build their own set of skills.
The course is scheduled to run for three days, and is being offered free of charge through the support of FEMA. Learning materials for this sort of occasion can be sourced from a local printing services provider.
September 7 has been selected as he start date for this function, and it will conclude on September 9. It will be offered at 7222 Commerce Cir., Cheyenne, and more details have been added to its event listing.
