The next one-time collection event will take place next Saturday, June 4 in Brookfield at the City Public Works Yard located at 19700 Riverview Drive. The next event after that is on June 18 at the City Department of Public Works in Delafield, which is located at 111 Main Street. The final one-time hazardous waste event will be held on September 10 in Oconomowoc at its City Public Works Garage, which can be found at 630 S. Worthington Street.
Although none of these one-time hazardous waste events are taking place in New Berlin, they are open to everyone who lives in Waukesha County with proof of residency, within hours of 8:00 am to 12:00 noon.
Additionally county residents can utilize one of Waukesha County’s ongoing collection sites, again with proof of residency; these are located in Menomonee Falls, Waukesha, and Muskego.
Waste management companies often rely on brochure printing companies to keep their customers apprised of what they will take for trash and what is acceptable for recycling.
In a statement, the Waukesha County Recycling & Solid Waste Supervisor, Analiese Smith, said:
“Keeping dangerous materials and chemicals out of our landfills is important. Providing ongoing collection sites and one-time collection events makes it easier for residents to properly dispose of those unwanted household waste items.”
A detailed list of acceptable items can be found on the County’s website.
