New Berlin shows off martial arts talents

New Berlin will be hosting a martial arts competition for all ages.

The 2025 Badger State Games Martial Arts tournament will include divisions and events in taekwondo, board breaking, point sparring, and other disciplines. For kids aged four to six, there will also be a Lil’ Dragons exhibition division. Para and special needs divisions are also available. Age groups range from the Lil’ Dragons up to Ultras, who are adult competitors aged 43 and older.

Everyone is welcome to cheer on the competitors throughout the day. Admission is $5 per person, while children 12 and under are free. There will be bleachers available for seating, but guests are welcome to bring their own chairs if they prefer. Event sponsors could promote themselves with banner printing.

Check-in for the tournament will be from 8:00 am to 9:00 am. The national anthem will be sung, and the early morning Lil’ Dragons and para divisions exhibition will begin, with the rest of the day’s events continuing after. Medals will be presented as each division’s competition is finished.

Online registration will be open until October 3, with onsite registration still available on the morning of the event. Registration online is $60 for one event and $10 for each additional event completed, while walk-up registration is $80 for the first event and $20 for each additional.

The 2025 Badger State Games Martial Arts competition is scheduled for Saturday, October 4 at the New Berlin Activity and Recreation Center.
