Plank record set in New Berlin

At 4 hours, 30 minutes, and 20 seconds, Rashelle Mason unofficially broke the world record for a forearm plank held by a female here in New Berlin.

Donna Jean Wilde established the previous record in March last year, which stood at 4 hours, 30 minutes, and 11 seconds. Mason is awaiting formal Guinness World Records accreditation for the new record. Rashelle Mason had numbness in her left arm. She was no longer able to take even little sips through a straw since her stomach had shut down.

At this point, she had been doing her forearm plank for three hours. Her goal was to set a new world record. Certificates for such accomplishments tend to feature letterheads on them.

Mason commented to say:

"Even though I had done it the Thursday before, you get this imposter syndrome. It's so incredibly difficult that you're not sure if you can do it.”

The outcome was an exciting triumph: at the Princeton Club in New Berlin, Mason took the unofficial record for a woman's plank beating the record by 9 seconds.

Mason first learned about plank challenges when she came across a news clip about Donna Jean Wilde breaking the women's Guinness World Record in March 2024 with a 4-hour, 30-minute, 11-second plank. Mason decided to break the record after sensing a challenge.
