The State Bar of Wisconsin has announced an event called "Wills for Heroes” taking place at the start of April.
The event is designed to help police department staff and other public safety officers plan their estates by helping them create wills and other estate documents. The event is being held pro bono, meaning that qualifying individuals, including the public safety community, can attend free of charge.
Organizers and the State Bar of Wisconsin are working together to organize the event as a small way to show their appreciation for those who help to keep the area safe. At the same time, the Wisconsin Bar is seeking professionals with experience in the area of estate planning. Individuals who are attorneys, notaries, paralegals, or have experience in this area are requested as volunteers. For some volunteers, this may present an opportunity to promote their business, some they might consider bringing their Business Cards or other Promotional Products. Volunteers are also reminded that these public safety officers may themselves have a need for future services.
The event will be held on Saturday, April 1 from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. It will be at the New Berlin Police Department, which is located at 16300 W National Avenue in New Berlin. Guests can reserve their place via the Eventbrite listing.
