UW Graduate joins MFHS music program
Starting next year, University of Wisconsin graduate Meredith Planton will be teaching music at Menomonee Falls High School. She will be filling the position left by Michael Zens who took a job closer to home.
She completed her undergraduate degree in 2013 at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, earning the Pi Kappa Lamba scholarship for outstanding contributions to the music program. She has recently finished her instrumental conducting graduate program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. According to her colleagues, she is a top educator and a kind they have not seen in nearly 20 years of teaching.
Planton stated that she is excited to start teaching at MFHS, which has an excellent music program. Corey Golla, principal of Menomonee Falls High, said that Planton would fit well with the music staff at the school, which includes chorus director Brian Scheele along with orchestra and band instructor John Woger. North Middle School orchestra instructor Kristin Tan will also be joining the team to work with string instrument players. Woger has worked with Planton before. He praises her knowledge of the subject matter and vast experience with teaching.
Orchestras and choirs have performances, which often involve giving programs to those attending. If a printing company is contacted, they might be able to print the programs and make them look very professional.
