Cudahy nonprofit sponsors German culture event

German immigrants have impacted American culture considerably, and Cudahy residents can explore the nation’s food and culture during Oktoberfest, coming this fall.

Cudahy Lions Club will sponsor Oktoberfest in mid-September. The event is to feature two live bands – Sensations and The NOW Band. Attendees will have games available, with food and drink choices as well. The Lions will also conduct a raffle, with cash prizes ranging from $100 to $1,500. This type of event is often promoted with poster printing or other Graphic Design Services.

Lions International was founded in 1917 and has several charitable concerns, including feeding the hungry, and helping seniors and those with disabilities, as well as fighting blindness worldwide. According to its website:

“Our motto is "We Serve." Lions are part of a global service network, doing whatever is necessary to help our local communities.”

The Cudahy Lions chapter was organized in 1950 and currently has about 56 members. They have supported such local organizations in past years as the Cudahy Family Library and the Cudahy Fire and Police Departments, as well as contributing towards academic and athletics programs in the Cudahy School District.

The 2025 Cudahy Lions Oktoberfest will be held Saturday, September 20 from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The venue address is 4849 South Packard Avenue, at the corner of Packard and Pabst Avenues. Should the event be cancelled due to inclement weather, raffle tickets will be drawn at another site. Attendees are encouraged to check the Cudahy Lions Facebook page for updates.
