Weeklong celebration of art underway in Waukesha
Just a short drive from Brookfield, Wisconsin, in nearby Waukesha, the 108th Art Crawl is taking place this week
Sponsored by Waukesha West End Artists, one part of this festival, the Plein Air Art Fair, will feature those artists who paint outdoors. During the fair, participating artists will paint along several different routes – one beginning from the Fox River and ending at Frame Park, and another from an area along Main Street to another area situated between The Springs Studio and Gallery and Barstow Street. Moreover, a third artistic route will run from Broadway from the Fox River up to the Polish Patina.
Additionally, this art crawl will also feature a Future Artist Showcase at 916 Clinton Ave. At this particular location, 100 artistic pieces created by local students will be on display.
Also, an Artists' Reception (Sale Event) at Daylee Public House will be held this Saturday, October 5, from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. At this event, the artistic works created will be on display, and visitors will have the opportunity to purchase them. There will be prizes awarded for the artwork.
The public is invited to visit downtown Waukesha and take in its renowned restaurants, art galleries, nightspots, and antique/gift and service shops. For any other artists interested in participating, nearby print shops can print out the registration form and agreement at events like this, which can be returned to Almont Gallery with the entry fee. Live music featuring over 175 spectacular artists will be played on the downtown tour in over 20 venues.
The event began yesterday and concludes October 5.
