Brookfield sports bar to change location
Bullwinkle’s Sports Bar, a Brookfield establishment, is under new ownership and will be changing its location this fall.
The bar and restaurant will be staying on West Bluemound Road in Brookfield but will be changing addresses, moving into the former site of Mama Mia’s Pizza. Bullwinkle’s remains open at the old building leading up to the move. It reopened its dining room this past spring and offers a full menu of pub-style food and drink alongside over 50 big-screen TVs to watch sporting events.
The menu accordingly uses sports-themed names such as “Slam Dunk BBQ Chicken Salad” and “Seventh Inning Parmesan Chicken.” The current location, however, has been sold to Wimmer Communities, a company that owns apartment buildings in Brookfield and other areas.
The relocation comes alongside a change in ownership, albeit one that keeps the restaurant in the family. Long-time employee Peter Antonopoulos will be taking over the business from its current owners, sisters Georgia Karellas and Patty Pritchard, to whom he related. All staff will move to the new location. Bars and restaurants often work to foster a sense of community through everything from regular events to customized promotional products, so maintaining that community when moving to a new location is crucial.
