Brookfield Chamber to host imposter syndrome workshop

The Greater Brookfield Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Program is hosting an event focused on overcoming imposter syndrome this March.

The speaker, Deanna Marincic, will split her talk into four main topics. She will cover what imposter syndrome is and the types of feelings it can cause, its root causes, how it affects people in both their professional and personal lives, and what practical methods people can use to move past it. These strategies will focus on ways to increase confidence.

Marincic is a licensed psychotherapist with more than 25 years of experience providing mental health services. She is the owner and founder of Gals Institute and the Gals on the Go Project. Gals Institute offers family therapy that includes kids as young as six, as well as one-day events and workshops to help participants build resilience. Gals on the Go is a nonprofit that brings these programs to kids and teens.

Tickets are available at a discount if purchased in advance on the Chamber’s website. The cost is $10 for members and $15 for guests. At the door, the price is $15 for members and $20 for guests. Organizations often use flyer printing services to promote their events.

“Imposter Syndrome: How to overcome that fear and anxiety in work/life” will take place on Thursday, March 13 from 7:45 am to 9:00 am at the Chamber’s office in Brookfield.
