An exhibit of “The Imagine Van Gogh the Original Immersive Exhibition in Image Totale” is now opened at the Tacoma Armory.
Such special exhibits can be promoted throughout a community with poster printing.
Many of the portraits, landscapes, and handwritten letters of Van Gogh are illuminated in larger-than-life images and fill the walls, the floor, and a huge pillar. The works of art rotate through these spaces over a period of 45 minutes while soft music plays in the background.
The exhibit shows the early work of Van Gogh in addition to his paintings of villagers, the country, and landscapes with a special version of “Starry Night” which has been taken apart and magnified to enable a more detailed exploration of the stars.
This exhibit was created in honor of “The Cathedrale d’Images” created by Albert Piecy. In the 1970s, Piecy started enlarging art and then displaying it on the limestone walls of a quarry in France which has been abandoned. This was the beginning of the Totale concept. His approach has been improved with technology and become more accessible to the public.
Tickets are now on sale and are by timed entry. Tickets can be purchased for viewing seven days a week. Packages are available and children under the age of three enter at no cost. This exhibition will run until Saturday April 16.
