Tacoma to host sustainability Expo

The 16th Annual South Sound Sustainability Expo will be coming to Tacoma later this month.

It will be held at the Tacoma campus of University of Washington on Commerce Street, and will run along the Prairie Line Trail to Tollefson Plaza. Poster printing can be used in such areas and throughout a city to promote special events like this.

The goal of the Expo is to connect businesses and residents with products, services, agencies, and companies that address sustainability needs in the community.

There are several highlights of the Expo. “The Switch is on Washington” and Tacoma Public Utilities will host a panel discussion. There will be an Electrification Marketplace that will feature vendors to help attendees add electricity to their lives, as well as a Plant Swap, where attendees can bring clean pots, cuttings, plants, seeds, and starters to exchange with each other.

Teruko Nimura, Environmental Services Artist in Residence for the city of Tacoma, will host a family friendly hands-on art activity. Attendees can bring rocks to create mini clay sculptures, which will be included in a future community art installation.

There will also be arts and crafts, a scavenger hunt, and a craft swap that will be hosted by Dew Club Racoma and Remakery.

A mobile coffee truck and vegan food trucks will also be participating in the Expo.

This event will be from 10:00am to 3:00pm on Saturday, April 13.
