Tacoma makes time for trains

The Washington State History Museum will be hosting an event that it hopes will delight railroad buffs and the rest of the public alike from Tacoma and the surrounding communities.

The institution will be holding its 21st annual model train festival, which will feature a variety of exhibits dedicated to this hobby. It will showcase some of the most detailed and extensive model railroad scenes in the whole of the Pacific Northwest, and will include the state’s largest permanent layout for these small scale trains.

In addition to the exhibits, there will also be an assortment of hands-on railway related activities, and visitors can browse through the museum’s other displays. Tea, coffee, and other light refreshments will be available for purchase at Anthem’s Coffee and Tea. Ad specialties can be customized to be sold via the gift shop of an institution during an event such as this.

The festival will run from December 17 until January 1 at the Washington State History Museum. Tickets prices have been set at $12 for adults and $8 for seniors/kids and military members. Kids who are under five and museum members will be admitted free of charge. Paid parking is available on site, and it can also be reached by public transit.

Further details about the event and the museum itself is available on its website.
