New cider now on tap in Tacoma

A Tacoma company is using its expertise to turn apples into cider.

Tilted Tree Cidery has opened its doors, and it is the first of its kind in the city. According to owner Jared Fraychineaud, there is a call in the state for better ciders, and his company is ready to meet that demand.

Bottling of its final products began in August. They are now available on the shelves of Pint Defiance and Copper Door in Tacoma, and can be purchased “on tap” at Narrows Brewing.

Fraychineauld plans on debuting two new offerings at the second Cider Swig, and hope to expand their market to other stores and establishments throughout the city. A flyer printing firm can produce advertisements and other promotional materials that help to get the word out about the latest addition to the state’s brewing community.

As a craft cider producer, he joins a small but growing group of cideries in the state. The products they produce are based on a variety of fruits, such as heirloom apples and quince, and they come in a range of flavors and strengths. Some even have the addition of hops, which lends them a taste that more reminiscent of beer. The brewers at Tilted Treeuse many types of apples that are sourced from Washington state, and are also experimenting with using other locally grown fruit such as cherries.
